Tree Tagging 2010

Today was a beautiful, crisp fall day. It also happened to be the first day of tree tagging at Strack's Tree Farm, where we go every year to pick out a Christmas tree. Since all of the best trees seemed to get tagged on the first day (last year we went the second day), we headed out early this afternoon to pick a tree.

Mr. Gebely insisted on taking the dogs along. I honestly wasn't sold on the idea but after it was all over I was glad that we did take them. They both had fun and the owners of the farm told us if we wanted we could let them off-leash. We don't quite trust Katy with her hunting instincts to be off-leash in a strange place, but C-Dawg had a blast!
Half of the fun of it for Callie was taunting Katy by running around her in circles. That's what sisters are for after all!
Happy puppy! :-)
We find ourselves partial to concolor firs so we searched through a few different fields to look for the right one. Gotta have the perfect tree for the Geblin's first Christmas!
Here it is...our tree! Unfortunately Mr. Gebely isn't the greatest photographer since he failed to get the entire tree in the picture. And you almost can't tell I'm pregnant here - ha!
Paid for, tagged, and almost ready for the corner of our dining room!
Luckily I still managed to get a picture of the tree. The large point will be cut off - otherwise it is one perfect, full, and tall tree!
Ok, we're ready....bring on Christmas!!!
