I posted on Sunday about having newborn and family shots taken with Lena this weekend. We had a chance to see them yesterday and I finally have some free time to post some today!
My best bud's Dad, Ken, came to our house to take the pictures. He literally set up the corner of our dining room (which was conveniently empty thanks to the removal of our Christmas tree) into a photography studio. Like, he brought everything....lights, props, a screen - you name it! He also had two great assistants including Katie so that was pretty nice too. And Katie brought a little fluff-ball named Perkins who didn't really help on the photography part but he was adorable and I love him.
Ken is just starting up his business and is such a talented photographer. If anyone wants more information about his photography visit his website or just ask me for the information. I would be more than happy to pass it on. You won't find a nicer photographer who is excited about taking your pictures either. Maybe Perkins the fluffball will come to your session too.
We kind of planned for Lena to be sleeping in most of these pictures, but little miss attitude had other plans. She doesn't want to miss anything and was actually awake for almost the entire session. It all worked out though since she was pleasant and cooperative. And her personality shines through better being awake so I don't mind not having sleepy newborn pictures since these show who she truly is - what her Daddy and I call a nosebag!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these pictures. In fact, there is no way I can pick a favorite. After all, when you've got tons of beautiful pictures of your baby how can you ever pick a favorite?? So without further ado - my precious girl...

We also took some individual pictures of Lena and myself and Lena and her Daddy. I know I'm biased, but isn't my baby beautiful?? I can't get enough of her...

This picture makes me swoon....nothing like a baby girl and her Daddy. They've already got such a special relationship and I think you can see that in this picture.
And how could we take pictures and not use my favorite curtain in the house? This combines two of my favorite things...my curtain and silhouettes.Lena finally crashed about an hour and a half into the shoot. She was pooped so we managed to get a sleeping shot then.

So I'd love to hear what you think - are they amazing or what? :-)

These pictures are gorgeous! I would never be able to chose one. I really like the first one with Lena's name behind her -- those letters are so cool, did you make them?
They are all beautiful!!!!
I absolutely LOVE the pictures of you and Ryan with Lena (all together and one-on-one). You look so happy; it brings tears to my eyes!
They look GREAT! and i think her hair is looking more red :)
Thanks everyone!
Erin- I *wish* I was that talented and creative! The letters are from Anthropologie.
Heather - we think her hair is looking red sometimes too, especially under light. Of course sometimes it looks blonde and sometimes it looks brown too! ;-)
