From Pinterest To Reality: Part 1

Katy was a somewhat unwilling participant in a photo session tonight. I was inspired by the twinkly light pictures that are now showing up on pinterest and wanted to give it a shot.  I know that any time I want to try anything even somewhat complicated when it comes to photography, I need to test it out first before making an attempt with Lena. She doesn't have the patience for me to figure out backgrounds, camera settings, etc.

Once Lena was asleep tonight I set this up in our bedroom and since Katy happened to be already napping on the bed, she was the lucky one who got to be in the pictures. It wasn't too tough to figure out what I was doing, but this definitely needs to be daytime shoot with Lena. Natural light is very important and would have made things a ton easier for me this evening. I also think it will be worthwhile to invest in a second string of lights if I want to make it work well.

Otherwise, not bad for a first attempt. What do you think?
